Theorizing Spiritual Well-being of Chinese Older Adults

Inspired by curiosity and passion in the understanding of the meaning of life construction among Chinese older adults, Dr. Vivian W. Q. Lou from the Sau Po Centre on Ageing and the Department of Social Work & Social Administration of the University of Hong Kong have collaborated with the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) (http://www.tungwahcsd.org/special/endlesscare/content_services_9.php) in a series of studies on spirituality since year 2009. These studies aimed to examine the underlying conceptual structure of spirituality among Chinese older adults as well as to identify effective intervention strategies to enhance spirituality. This is a pioneer study in spiritual care within a non-religious context in the Hong Kong local community.
