Depression in Older Adults

                        

 

Background

Depression is a prevalent problem and one of the two most common mental disorders among aging population (WHO,2016). Late-life depression has frequently reported to have great impact on older adults’ cognitive/ physical functions, mortality, quality of life, and social health care costs.

In order to enhance services for elders with mood problems, Sau Po Centre on Aging, The University of Hong Kong has cooperated with our local partners and implemented several programs, focusing both on community and long-term care institutions.
